Laurence J. "Larry" Gray, age 67 of Big Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 23, 2018. He was born March 14, 1951 in Muskegon, the son of William and Lucille (Combe) Gray. Larry graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1969. He served his country in the United States Navy. Larry enjoyed attending Pow Wows, camping, and fishing with his grandson, Sean Taylor. He also played amputee football in Big Rapids in his younger years. Larry was a member of the Morley American Legion Post 0554. He is survived by three children, Michelle (Michael) Paul of Rockford, Ashley Rattin of Big Rapids, and Sarah (Trevor) Fitzgerald of Big Rapids; six grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Diane) Gray of Spring Lake; and one niece. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one son. A memorial service will take place 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
