Laura Bernice Phelps, 82, passed away on January 24, 2025. She was born on March 15, 1942, to Peter and Myrtle (Flury) Olson. In 2003, Laura moved to Stanwood, where she became a beloved member of the community. Laura had a zest for life and found joy in many simple pleasures. She loved playing cards, tubing on the river, and taking trips to the casino. Known for her generous spirit, she often volunteered to drive others where they needed to go. Her kindness, humor, and love of adventure left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Laura is survived by her devoted husband, Charlie Phelps; her children, Cindy (Paul) Dunstan and Ed (Darby) Stacy; her grandchildren, Nick, Christine, Megan, and Taylor; four great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Herbert, Eddie, Wally, and Myrtle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Myrtle Olson, and her siblings, Ervin, Pete, Ellen, Marylin, and Celia. A memorial service to honor Lauras life will be held at a later date.
