Larry E. Messenger, age 83 of Paris, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at his home. He was born in Niles on January 10, 1939, the son of Harold Sr. and Marie (Anderson) Messenger. Larry was raised by Richard and Belle Anderson after his mom passed when he was four. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marines in 1959. Larry married Ann Stewart in Hersey on March 19, 1966, and together they raised their family in Paris. He was employed by Western Concrete retiring after 29 years. Larry was a member of the Big Rapids American Legion Post 98, where he was past Commander, and AmVets Post 1941. Larry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann Messenger of Paris; two children, Leona (Elgin) Harvey of Woodville and Cindy Messenger; seven grandchildren, Denise (Scott) Tinney, Darren (Emily) Harvey, Brian Albaugh, Travis Albaugh, Samantha Horton, Patrick Horton Jr., and Michael Horton; two great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Harold Jr. (Lois) Messenger of Missouri; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold Sr. and Marie (Anderson) Messenger, Richard and Belle Anderson, sister Shirley Connell, brothers Richard and William Messenger, and an infant brother Jack Messenger. Cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time.
