Larry M. Hatfield, age 60, a lifelong resident of Remus, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at his home, with his children at his side. He was born on April 24, 1957 in Edmore to Donald and Edna (Diehl) Hatfield. Larry graduated from Chippewa Hills and earned an associates degree from Ferris State University. Though his first career was in farming, building and woodworking came naturally to Larry and he was able to turn this into a successful business of his own. He was talented and known as a hard worker. Larry looked forward to nice weather and the opportunity to get out on the kayak. He also enjoyed camping, cruising around in his 1954 Chevy truck, and reading.

Larrys sense of humor and stories will be missed by his family and friends, who meant the world to him. He is survived by his children, Zach (Dana) Hatfield of Weidman, Maegan (Kyle) Eldred of Belmont, and Casey (Cade) Schafer of Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren that were the joy of his life, Quinn, Lexi, and Cuyler Hatfield; siblings, Sherry (Tom) Marks, Janis Weston, Pam (Mike) Forbes, Dennis Hatfield, and Jeffery Hatfield; as well as many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Remus. All are invited to join the family for food and a time of remembrance at Wheatland Township Park after the service between 4:30 and 9:00 p.m.
