Kreaton "Krete" Cullimore, age 89 of Chippewa Lake formerly of Lansing, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Spectrum Health-Blodgett Campus in Grand Rapids. He was born February 25, 1922 in Winn, the son of George and Emma (Holloway) Cullimore. Krete graduated from Blanchard High School. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army after serving during World War II. Throughout his working life Krete was a distribution clerk for the United States Post Office and he worked for Motor Wheel, both in Lansing. He was involved in many organizations: Disabled American Veterans, where he was the chaplain, Sons of Union Veterans of Civil War, where he was also chaplain, the Masons, the American Legion and the Council of Coral Ridge Ministries in FL. Krete was a member of the First Baptist Church in Evart and lately he had been attending the Church of Christ in Barryton. Krete had many hobbies that he enjoyed. He was a hunter and fisherman, as well as a builder, realtor and a Reverend at Settlers Rest Church. Krete looked forward to his travels to Florida but he also took pleasure in living in the Chippewa Lake area. Krete loved his family and he will be missed. He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn of Chippewa Lake; a daughter Brenda Nelson of Chippewa Lake; a son Charles (Linda) Cullimore of Eagle; 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Kimberly; 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by Ettie "Pete" Cullimore, his wife of 53 years and mother of his children, who passed away April 14, 1994; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Randy Piatt officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 4th at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Krete's name may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 402 N.
