Kenneth James Young, age 63 of Evart passed away peacefully, at home, while in the company of his family on Monday, January 24, 2011. He was born on July 5, 1947 in Goodrich Twp., Michigan to James and Marjorie (Young) Young. He was raised in the Flint area and on February 4, 1978 married Janice M. Hylton. Together they made their home in Flint until moving to the Evart area in 1985. Kenneth worked for 18 years at GM- Fisherbody #1 and continued to fix cars long after employment. When his health was good he liked to go fishing and hunting. Kenny looked forward to playing his "lucky" numbers every week and bingo. Kenneth had a great spirit and loved his family. He will be missed by his beloved wife Janice; children Jody Young of Golf Port, Florida and Krystal Young of Evart; two sisters Mary Nell Perkins of Grand Blanc and Nancy (Michael) Bennett of Evart; many nieces an nephews, a loving extended family, dear friend Linda Long and several friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents James Young and Marjorie (Young) Cunningham, step dad John Cunningham and a brother Joseph (Beth) Young. Funeral services for Kenneth will take place at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2011 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with the family greeting friends one hour prior from Noon until 1:00 p.m. Sprint interment will be at East Fork Cemetery in Barryton. The family will also greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Kenneth's name can be left at the funeral home for the family.
