Kenneth E. "Ken" Couey, age 67 of Canadian Lakes, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 6, 2015 at his home. He was born October 7, 1947 in Atlanta, GA, the son of Kenneth and Alice (Johnson) Couey. Ken was an outstanding Fifth Grade Elementary School Teacher before he began his career with Ford Motor Company. He retired in 2007 after advancing quickly to the level of a Division Manager. Ken was formerly on the Board of Directors in Canadian Lakes. He enjoyed boating, riding atv's and was an avid sportsman. Ken is survived by his two sons, Kris Couey of Atlanta, GA and Ken Jr. (Lindsey) Couey of Bellingham, WA; Ken Jr.'s mother, Roxanne; three grandchildren, Jack, Karma and Alec; brother, Pastor Raymond (Donna) Couey of Lenoir City, TN; nephew, Ray (Michelle) Couey; niece, Alicia (Jason) Henderson; beloved dog, Kaylie and many friends from hunting, Canadian Lakes and Ford Motor Company. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held 12:30 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Canadian Lakes Alpine Haus with Pastor Raymond Couey officiating.
