Kenneth N Boyer, 81, of Reed City, passed away in his home on Thursday, March 6, 2025, with family present. Ken was born on July 28, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Carl William and Bernice (Oehmke) Boyer.

Early in life, Kenneth moved with his family to Reed City, MI, where he graduated from Reed City High School. He later was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country.

After the army, Ken owned and operated a water well drilling business for many years before moving to the state of Wyoming, where he was a heavy equipment mechanic at the Bridger Coal company for more than 20 years.

On July 29, 1982, in Green River, Wyoming, he married Elizabeth Dickinson.

While living in Superior, Wyoming, Ken, at one time, served as mayor for a term.

Later in life, Ken and Beth moved back to Reed City, where they enjoyed their retirement years together in Michigan.

Kenneth was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, cherishing the time spent with friends and family.

He is survived by his children, Kristine (Sarah) Boyer, Alice Domine, Michele (Dirk) Hochhuth, and David (Kim) Dickinson; Grandchildren, Katherine, Olivia, Collin, Eliza, Adam, Megan, William, as well as Rebecca, Sabrina, and Anja. He is also survived by several close cousins, nephews, and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth; his children, Amanda Boyer and Ty Brown; three sisters and two brothers.

A Memorial Service will be held with military honors at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, VFW 2964 Hall, 129 E Osceola Ave., Reed City, MI 49677

Ken's typical parting words included "Have fun." He believed in hard work but also knew how to enjoy life.
