Keith J. Rose, age 66 of Mecosta went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 30, 2009. He was born February 19, 1943 in Mundy Township of Genesee County to John and Lucille (Kelley) Rose. Keith grew up in the Lakeview area where he lived for many years and then settled in Mecosta nearly 20 years ago. Keith worked as a journey man welder on the pipeline with both his father and brothers. He was a tinker and inventor with several patens to his credit. Keith will be remembered as a man of faith by his many close friends and his family whose members include, his three daughters; Lynette (Jack Serio) Rose of Evart, Weeon'onka (Charlie) Sheldon of Rodney, Janette (Kyle) Parks of Big Rapids; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and the mother of his 3 daughters, Linda (ne Cooley) Cowles of Morley. Besides his parents, Keith was preceded in death by a son, Brian Keith Rose; a grandson, Robbie; 3 brothers; William, Ted and Kelley; a sister, Virginia Jones and his loving companion for many years Marcia Kay Cole. In a final act of generosity, Keith had willed his remains to the University of Michigan in hopes of furthering medical knowledge. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
