Kathelyn M. "Katie" Cota, age 87 of Lakeview and Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at home in Florida. She was born May 18, 1929 in Pontiac, MI the daughter of Howard and Pearl (Kelly) Schuberg. Katie graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1948. It was there she met George Cota (Class of 1947) and they were married on August 19, 1950. Together they made their home in Lakeview where Katie was a bus driver for the Lakeview Public Schools. Katie was a member of VFW auxiliary #3701 and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, both in Lakeview. Katie will be remembered as a good friend who was fun to be around and enjoyed life. She is survived by her husband of over 66 years, George Cota of Lakeview; her daughter, Pam (Dean Titus) Cota-Titus; many nieces and nephews including special niece, Linda and her husband Dan Maxwell of Evart and her beloved fur baby, Buttons. Katie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Keith Schuberg. Cremation has taken place and there will be no public services.
