Karl A. Paul, age 75 of Mecosta, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Mecosta County Medical Center. He was born August 14, 1935 in Roseville, MI the son of Karl and Ann (Gillich) Paul. Karl's family moved from the Detroit area to Mecosta in 1953. He married Barbara J. Smith on August 12, 1993. Karl was an operator for the Waste Water Treatment Plant in Wheatland Township, retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Remus. Karl will be remembered as a very loving and caring man. He especially loved animals and all kinds of yard birds. He will be forever missed by his entire family including his beloved wife, Barb of Mecosta; 5 children, Sherry (Marcus) Truesdell of Chippewa Lake, Heather (Bob) Hutson of Palo, MI, Christopher Paul in the United States Army now stationed in Afghanistan, James T. Clark II of Big Rapids, Nicholas (Becky) Paul of Grand Rapids; 9 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Stephen (Edie) Paul of Grand Rapids, Robert (Nivia) Paul of Barryton; a sister, Sharon Lehnert of Mecosta; a cousin, Roy Roman of Lakeview; a mother-in-law, Ruth Narloch of Mecosta, many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Besides his parents, Karl was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joseph and Arthur Paul. A Memorial Mass will take place11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Remus with Father Michael Burt officiating.. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery.
