Justin Brown, 34, of Lake, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020. Known as "Superman" by all who loved him, and beating the odds many times before, Justin fought a courageous battle with multiple health conditions to the very end. Justin was born on August 19, 1985 in Garden City, to Peggy (Shopshear) Jehnzen and James Brown. He was a man with a kind heart and would do anything he could to encourage or help the people he loved. He was always up for an adventure and could be counted on to be your "sidekick" when you needed one. Justin loved his daughter, and helped to raise many of his nieces and nephews as his own. He also loved to fish and work on his vehicles. His love for his family, especially his mother, was the reason he fought so long, and he made sure they would take care of one another when he was gone. Justin was the rock of the family and he will be greatly missed.
Justin is survived by his daughter Katelyn Rose, mother Peggy (Wayne) Jehnzen of Lake; siblings: Lisa (Mark) McKinch of Big Rapids; Mike (Stacy) Shopshear of Taylor; Kim Brown of Ohio; Gina Lackey of Florida; and James Brown, Jr. of Ohio. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews: Roxanna Issa, Branden "Carlos" Issa, Miguel Issa, Kaylee (David Hunt) Henry, Kara Henry, Mark McKinch, Jr., Brenten (Michelle) Shopshear, Taylor (Jake) Jevarhirian, Blake Shopshear, and Caden Shopshear.
Justin was preceded in death by his beloved dog "Krypto," aunts Eleanor Wellday, Joan Shaw, and Judy Anderson; grandmother Martha Hankins; and his father, James Brown.
