June Maneke, age 88, a lifelong resident of Rodney, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021. She was born October 28, 1933 in Big Rapids the daughter of Ervin and Anna (ONeil) Hornby. June graduated from Big Rapids High School. On July 5, 1952 she married Dale Maneke and they made their home in Rodney. June was employed by Fashion Industries until it closed the doors and she later worked for Wolverine World Wide until her retirement. June was a life member of the Big Rapids Eagles. She is survived by her two sons: Ken (Linda) Maneke of Big Rapids, Mike (Lori) Maneke of Rodney; seven grandchildren, Neil (Danielle) Maneke, Marie (Mike) Litrenta, Ryan (Judy) Maneke, Kelly (Billy) Lafountain, Mat (Sarah) Maneke, Camra (Mike) Shanteau and Cody Maneke; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Bobby Jean (Denny) Yaw of Lakeview; three sisters-in-law, Ida Mae Maneke of Big Rapids, Betty (Sonny) Johansen of Rodney, Sal Hornby of Ypsilanti; several nieces and nephews. June was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years on August 6, 2021, a sister, Pat Park and a brother, Dick Hornby. A memorial service will take place 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the Martiny Township Hall, 15051 110th Avenue, Rodney, MI 49342.
