Julie Ann Norton was born to Glenn and Arlois (Godbold) Norton on November 11, 1956. She was a lifelong resident of Big Rapids. Julie passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 27, 2017. She attended St. Mary Catholic School and Big Rapids Public Schools where she graduated in 1975. Julie retired from the City of Big Rapids after working for Dial-A-Ride and the Water Filtration Plant. After retirement, she went to Naturopathic School in Mt. Pleasant; graduating as a Certified Naturopathic Physician. Julie owned and operated The Herb Shoppe in Big Rapids. She is survived by her father, Glenn Norton; sister, Carol (Gary) Bennett; very special friend, James Craig; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Julie was preceded in death by her mother. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at St. Paul Campus Parish, 1 Damascus Road, Big Rapids, with Father Joe Fix officiating. A rosary will be prayed at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the Church. Per Julies wishes cremation has taken place. The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in Julies name to Mecosta County Commission on Aging Meals on Wheels or Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Evart.
