Julie S. Buchanan, age 46 of Stanwood, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 7, 2021. She was born in Holland on July 10, 1975, the daughter of Michael and LaDonna (Neal) Evans. Julie was a 1993 graduate of Fennville High School. She then earned a Medical Administrative Certificate from Everest Institute. Julie was one of strong faith; she enjoyed studying the Bible. She married Bob Buchanan on October 31, 2003 in Standale and together they made their home in the Grand Rapids area before settling in Stanwood. Julie and Bob did everything together whether it was working, playing, or riding their motorcycle. She liked to read and tend to her flower garden. Julie loved her family and the time they spent together. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Bob Buchanan of Stanwood; six children, Brandi Buchanan and her fianc Bryce Lamoreaux of Grand Haven, Zack Buchanan and his fiance Cassie McKay of Standale, Janie Buchanan of Kalamazoo, Jessie Buchanan and Trevor Chase of Grand Rapids, Jon and his wife Jocelyn Buchanan of San Diego, California, and Bob Buchanan Jr. and Lexi Hill of Kentwood; six grandchildren, Mikey, Jordan, Brennan, Alex, Ally, Jackson, and James III on the way; her parents Michael and LaDonna Evans of Rockford; two sisters, Connie and her husband Shawn Brooks of Texas and Jill Evans of Rockford; father-in-law, Tom (Mary) Buchanan of Standale; mother-in-law, Bette (Al) Buchanan-Dzingle of Nebraska; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is also survived by her beloved dogs and cats, Sammy, Louie, George, Katie, Lola, Max, and Violet. Julie was preceded in death by her grandparents. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Austin Township Hall, 14132 Pierce Road, Stanwood, MI 49346.
