J. Maureen Albright, age 87, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 27, 2021 at her home in Big Rapids. She was born in Empire on March 3, 1934, the daughter of Edwin and Iola (Ruegasegger) Tobin. Maureen grew up on South Manitou Island most of her childhood before moving to Big Rapids. She attended Big Rapids High School where she excelled in music and drama; sharing her beautiful voice as lead in multiple school plays. In 1952 she was voted homecoming queen of her senior class. Maureen was an avid bowler who loved reading, cooking, baking, and making ceramics. She enjoyed feeding the deer and birds in her yard everyday and tending her flowers. Maureen served and faithfully attended the First Baptist Church of Big Rapids for over 40 years. She always cared for others before herself and took pride in raising her family. Maureen will be missed by many.

She is survived by her sons, Bob (Maria) Albright of Lindsay, Ontario, Steve Albright of White Cloud, Greg (Julie) Albright of Big Rapids; brother, Keith Cameron of Atlanta; sister-in-law, Beatrice Hesley of Cedar Springs; many grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Maureen was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Sr.; son, Harry Jr.; parents; and brother-in-law, George Hesley.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids from 4:00 6:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made in Maureens name to the Dementia Society of America.
