Juanita Ruth

March 23, 1925 – November 1, 2016
Juanita Ruth Cox, age 91 of Stanwood, passed away peacefully, at home in her sleep, on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. She was born March 23, 1925 in Shawnee, OK the daughter of Ira and Hazel (Harris) Wheeler.
Her family moved to California and during World War II Juanita proudly worked for the war effort. She was employed in the navel yards and was one of the original "Rosie the Riveters". She soon met a young Marine, Frank H. Cox and they later married.
Juniata lived the majority of her life in Piqua, OH and for the past ten years lived near Stanwood with her daughter Ruth Ann Snow.
Juanita enjoyed camping, fishing, moral mushroom hunting and an occasional trip to the casino, where she was very lucky.
Juanita is survived by her two daughters, Ruth Ann Snow of Stanwood, Diana (Larry) Hart of Piqua, OH; three grandchildren, Brian (Jeanette) Snow, Paula (Randy) Peters and Amy (Kenny) Magoteaux; seven great-grandchildren, Jorden and Jessica Snow, Kyle and Kelsey Peters and Lindsey, Sophia and Jarad Magoteaux; her brother, John (Jazell) Wheeler of California; sister-in-law, Norma Jean (Gilbert) Christan of Texas and many extended family members and friends who will continue to hold the memories they have close to their hearts for years to come.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Frank on October 10, 2015.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
