Joyce M. Wink, 59, of Morley, Mi, died June 4, 2014 with her family by her side. She passed away at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital from the effects of a stroke. Joyce was born to the late William and Doris Matthews, February 13, 1955 in Evanston, Il. Joyce attended Big Rapids High School for two years before graduating from Elston High School in Michigan City, IN in 1973. She received her BS in Education from Central Michigan University in 1979. Joyce celebrated her 39th year of marriage to Jim on May 24th of this year. She taught in the Morley Stanwood school district for over 20 years, teaching in every grade from K-6th. Joyce was a very dedicated teacher and was passionate about children's literacy. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed being a member of the Gardening Angels garden club. Joyce is survived by her husband Jim and her three children: Bethany Wink of Indianapolis; Callan Wink of Livingston, MT; and Glenna Foight of Somerville, MA. Also surviving are three brothers: Ted Matthews of Colleyville, TX; Thomas Matthews of O'Brien, FL; and John Matthews of Paw Paw, MI. A memorial open house will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 4 pm to 8 pm at CK's Place, 11515 Northland Dr., Big Rapids. Friends of Joyce and her family are encouraged to attend this casual dress gathering to reminisce about Joyce.
