Joyce E. Ellison, age 87 of Stanwood, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Grand Rapids on November 1, 1935, the daughter of Raymond and Nellie (Dutton) Luce. Joyce was a 1953 graduate of Morley High School.

She married Lester "Les" Ellison on September 25, 1954. Joyce was a custodian for over 20 years at Ferris State University where she enjoyed working with her friends. When she wasnt working at Ferris, Joyce was working hard on the farm. She also liked to watch WWE wrestling.

She was the best cheerleader and #1 Grandma in the eyes of all her grandchildren. Joyce looked forward to transporting her grandchildren to their sporting events and extra-curricular activities.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 68 years, Lester Ellison of Stanwood; three children, Bob (Val) Ellison, Mike (Mary) Ellison, and Kathy Fish, all of Stanwood; ten grandchildren, Heather, Hillary, Mike, Jacob, Hope, Dan, Rob, Meghan, Hailey, and Holly; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; Harolds special friend Judy; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Izola and Iva, and brother Harold.

Memorial contributions may be made in Joyces name to Grace Hospice or Elara Caring Hospice.
