Johnny "John" Yarberry, age 82, of Stanwood, died peacefully Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Newaygo Compassion Care Home. He was born May 16, 1940, in Dearborn, the son of Pearl and Catherine (Blalock) Yarberry.John served honorably in the United States National Guard from 1959 - 1964. He enjoyed turkey and pheasant hunting, watching the news, American Wars on the history channel, and war movies. John had a passion for golf with his family and friends. He was a grown-up-sized kid, making scavenger hunts for his grandchildren and playing with remote control cars and helicopters. John loved to spend time with his family.John is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Barbara; son, John (Diana) Yarberry; grandchildren, Megan, Ashley, and Jacob Yarberry; and one niece.
