John Martin, age 90 of Evart, passed peacefully at his home Monday, February 19, 2024. He was born August 15, 1933 in Detroit, the son of Tony and Myrtle (Eldred) Martin. John worked at Chrysler for thirty years. He loved playing cards and reading the Detroit Free Press every night. John was an avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan and always enjoyed cheering them on. He cherished the times he went out to eat with his friends and family. He is survived by his brother Roy Martin; several grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and his angel, special friend, and caregiver, Cynthia Williams. John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; four children; and siblings, Judy Hanner, Margaretm Hanley, Norma Taylor, Richard Martin, and Jim Martin.
