John Thomas LaLonde, Jr. age 60 of Big Rapids, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 at his home. He was born December 15, 1955 in Bedford, MI the son of John T. and Brima L. (Owens) LaLonde Sr. John graduated from Bedford High School in 1974 and later moved north to Luther. He married Nancy Clark in 1982 and she survives. John worked as a specially wrought iron welder with jobs and projects in both Florida and Michigan. John was an avid NASCAR fan, often traveling to Daytona to attend races. He is survived by his two daughters, Jamie S. LaLonde of Paris, Shelby (Brad) Fulkerson of Big Rapids; a granddaughter, Jayda Tirado; a grandson, Harper Fulkerson; his father, John (JoAnn) LaLonde of Temperance; three brothers, Jim (Diane) LaLonde, Randy Hutting, Craig Mcalery; four sisters, Roxanne (Denny) Mockensturm, Robin Hill, Kim (Dave) Geer, Lori (Dave) Froah and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his mother, Brima LaLonde. John had been confined to a wheelchair for the past 25 years of his life and his family takes comfort in the knowing he is now free.
