John Andrew Kotowski, age 92 of Big Rapids, passed away October 7, 2017. He was born April 4, 1925 in Baltimore, Maryland the son of Andrew and Anna (Sarnecki).

He married Catherine Brown and they made their home and raised their family in Maryland where he worked for American Can Company. John was honorably discharged from the United States Army Air Corps following WWII and was a lifelong member of the American Legion and the VFW. He enjoyed weekend road trips to see the country side, Bingo, fixing puzzles and playing solitaire. John was a season hockey ticket holder who loved attending the Capital games.

John is survived by Daughter, Joan (William Semar) Kotowski of Big Rapids, MI and many nephews and nieces in Maryland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Catherine, one brother and four sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made in John's name to American Legion Post 98 Honor Guard.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with the family greeting friends one hour prior. Military honors will conclude under the auspices of the American Legion Firing Squad.
