Obituary

John W. Ingram, 69 of Barryton died Thursday, July 1, 2021 in Big Rapids. He was born in Bellaire, Ohio on November 25, 1951, the son of John and Jane (Decker) Ingram. John graduated from Sexton high school in Lansing. He worked as a landscaper for a short time after graduation before beginning his career in the well industry. John maintained and dug wells for many years for Peerless Midwest all over Michigan.

On March 25, 1995 John married Katherine Gelina in Mason where they lived until moving to Barryton in 1998. John attended the Chippewa Lake Community Church where he served as treasurer. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and taking his beloved dogs on long walks. John was an avid reader, who had countless books on nature, plants, and birds. He was also a beekeeper, selling his honey for many years and educating anyone who wanted to learn more about bees. John loved spending time with his family and will be missed.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years Kathy of Barryton; son, Michael Ingram of Texas; step-children, Tod Gelina of Lansing, Jennifer Sanson of Big Rapids, Michelle (Steven) Phillips of Holt; 11 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angela Ingram; and 3 brothers.
