Obituary

John G. Delisle, age 71 of Canadian Lakes, formerly of Flint passed away Monday, June 11, 2007 at Mecosta County Medical Center. He was born October 13, 1935 in Flint to Roy and Ona (Staley) Delisle. John married Wilma E. Vines on November 24, 1955 in Flint where they resided for many years. John enlisted in the United States Air force, serving during the Korean War. He continued his employment in the military as a civilian worker and a full time reservist. He was a Master Sergeant and Crew Chief on the H.C. 130 rescue planes. John retired after a 40 year career in the Air Force and then moved to Canadian Lakes with his wife Wilma. John will be forever remembered as a kind and loving person. He was a very good husband and father, his survivors include: His loving wife of 51 years, Wilma Delisle of Canadian Lakes 2 sons: Doug Delisle Sr. of Mecosta David (Jane) Delisle of Spring, TX 2 grandchildren: Doug Delisle Jr. of Stanwood Renee Delisle of Spring, TX A sister: Donna (Bill) Davis of Odessa, TX and many nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids on Thursday, June 14th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and then process to Highland View Cemetery in Big Rapids for a military burial under the auspices of American Legion Post #98 Firing Squad of Big Rapids. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
