John Walter Betts of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023. John was born on March 17, 1986, and grew up in Big Rapids where he graduated from high school in 2004. He earned his Bachelor Degree from Michigan State University in 2008. John was preceded in death by his father & best friend, Walter C. Betts. He is survived by his son, Lucas Betts and daughter, Elliot Betts; dear friend & mother of his children, Kristin Betts; his brother Lance (Jann) Betts, two nieces, Paisley and Tillie Betts; mother Carol Betts; grandmother, Joan Blaine; as well as a close-knit family of aunts, uncles and cousins. John's greatest joy in life was his children. An intimate celebration of John's life is planned for the spring. John loved animals & had rescued several dogs in his lifetime.
