Joe Carr Hamilton, 75, of Big Rapids, Michigan, passed away on August 8, 2025. Born on April 10, 1950, to Carr and Eva (Tribe) Hamilton, Joe spent his life in Big Rapids, where he built a legacy of kindness, generosity, and hard work.

Joe was known for his willingness to help anyone in need—whether it was mowing a neighbor's lawn or plowing snow on a cold winter morning. A dedicated worker, he spent his career in Quality Control, bringing diligence and pride to every task.

An animal lover through and through, Joe found joy in the wildlife that visited his property. He especially loved watching and photographing the eagles and deer that passed through, and he fed the squirrels so often that they became comfortable enough to lay down while eating. Joe also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trying new things—always ready for an adventure, at least once.

He is survived by his two daughters, Becky (Mike) Byrnes and Dawn (Matt) Gould; grandchildren Jeremy (Angie) Byrnes, Mitchell (Ashley) Byrnes, Ashlie (Cody) House, and Skyler (Liz) House; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his best friend, Dale Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ARC of Mecosta.

A memorial gathering is planned for Saturday, September 6, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Joe's Residence located at 20441 21 Mile Road Big Rapids. The family would like to welcome all family and friends to come celebrate Joe's life and cherished memories.
