With great sorrow, Jody Clements, 54, of Big Rapids, Michigan, passed away at home on June 25th, 2025 after a hard fought battle with cervical cancer. She was born on September 7th, 1970 in Greenville, Michigan to Philip and Shirley Clements. She lived her early childhood in Belding, Michigan, later moving with her parents to Barryton, Lakeview, and finally to Big Rapids, Michigan.

Jody graduated from Chippewa Hills High School with the class of 1988, and went on to further her education at both Ferris State and Grand Valley where she obtained degrees from both universities.

Jody was the single unmarried loved child of Phil and Shirley Clements. She was a highly compassionate and giving person who loved her family and friends, and a person who would help anyone who needed it.

Jody was the flag captain (and later instructor) for the Chippewa Hills High School Marching Band, a position she also would enjoy later with the Ferris State Marching Band. She also took part in the Big Rapids Civic Theater. For a time, she was employed at Kelsey Hospital in Lakeview, as well as Big Rapids Mental Health Services, and later becoming an independent health insurance agent.

Jody was an avid gardener, loved to travel, watch her father play baseball, spend time with family and friends, and feed the birds and squirrels. She was a loving caretaker for her parents and will be dearly missed by them.

Jody is survived by her parents, close friends including Fran the mail lady (Chip Hills grad), cousins, aunts, and uncles in Memphis and Union City, Tennessee, and in Michigan: Portland, Mesick, Stanton, Lansing, Higgins Lake, Lakeview, Detroit, Trufant, and Ionia.

Arrangements and cremation are in the care of Daggett Gilbert Funeral Home of Big Rapids, with a possible celebration of life to be held at a later time and place.
