Joanne (Horgan) ONeil age 88, died Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Medilodge of Mount Pleasant. She was born January 16, 1933 in Big Rapids, the daughter of William and Margaret (Tighe) Horgan. Joanne married Edwin ONeil February 22, 1952 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Big Rapids. She worked as a secretary at the Ferris State University Library for 15 years. In 1971, she moved her family to Barryton where she attended St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus. Joanne would help Edwin farm and they enjoyed traveling to Florida. She was an excellent cook and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Joanne is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Edwin; son, Edwin (Peggy) ONeil; brother, James Horgan; sister, Mary Therse Smith; grandchildren, Amy (Mark) Holsworth, Joseph (Brooke) ONeil, Steven (Amanda) ONeil; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debbie ONeil; brother, Dennis Horgan; brother-in-law, Al Smith; and sister-in-law, Joanne R. Horgan. Mass of the Resurrection will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Big Rapids with Father Jegar Fickel officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. 11:00 a.m. prior to the service Thursday at Church. Arrangements and care entrusted to the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton.
