JoAnna Marie Westover age 22 of Big Rapids passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 19, 2009. She was born December 1, 1986 in Big Rapids the daughter of Daniel L. and Patricia M. (Monica) Westover. A lifelong resident, JoAnna graduated from Big Rapids High School in 2005. She was currently a 4th year student at Ferris State University majoring in food service. JoAnna was a very lively and vibrant young lady. She loved to draw and do crafts, especially jewelry making, cross stitching and crocheting. She was an avid reader and made ceramics with her favorite subject being dragons, as she added to her ever growing "Dragon collection" . JoAnna had attended the First Baptist Church in Big Rapids with her family for many years. She was a sweet, loving and kind young lady. JoAnna was also a giving young woman; she was always doing special little things for her family and friends, like taking out her neighbor's trash, walking their dogs and making them gifts. JoAnna was never without her beloved Boston Terrier, Crystle Ann. With all that she did and everyone that she loved, her Crystle Ann was at the top of her list. She leaves a loving family to remember her forever that includes her parents, Daniel L. and Patricia Westover of Harpersville of AL, formerly of Big Rapids;3 brothers, Douglas Westover of Big Rapids, Daniel J. and Jonathan Westover, both at home with their parents; paternal grandparents, James and Anna Pearl Westover of Big Rapids; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Wells of Big Rapids; maternal grandfather, Gary Monica of Florida; many aunts, uncles, cousins and her cherished Boston Terrier, Crystle Ann Westover. JoAnna was preceded in death by her maternal step-grandfather, Edison Wells. Memorial services will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 23rd at the First Baptist Church in Big Rapids with the family greeting friends one hour prior to services. Pastor Bruce Peterson and JoAnna's great uncle, Pastor David Westover will officiate.
