JoAnn M. Gondick, age 73 of Chase, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at her sister's home after a courageous 17 year battle with cancer. She was born July 19, 1939 in Detroit, the daughter of Michael and Agnes (Lippke) Gondick. JoAnn was a member at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Reed City for 69 years. She was employed by Ferris State University as the Grounds Supervisor until she retired in 2005. JoAnn enjoyed growing flowers; she loved her horses and her dogs. She played softball, volleyball and was on the bowling team in Big Rapids. JoAnn was a very caring woman and was always willing to help others. She is survived by her siblings, Michael C. (Marge) Gondick of Lincoln Lake, Bert Gondick of Chase, Shirley Fuller of Rodney and Robert Gondick of Detroit; several nieces and nephews. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Big Rapids with Pastor Bruce Peterson officiating. The family will greet friends at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. (the time of service) Wednesday, July 3rd at the Church.
