Joan S. Zarnosky, age 71 of Stanwood, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2007. She was born December 12, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois. On October 1, 1960, Joan married Gordon Zarnosky, her soul-mate. They lived for a brief time in Chicago but eventually moved back to Gordon's home town of Stanwood, where they lived most of their life. Prior to Gordon's death last year, the couple celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. Joan was an avid animal lover and enjoyed being active outdoors. She was a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Big Rapids. Joan is survived by her brother, James Buse of West Chicago and her sister, Dorothy Groth of Leesburg, Florida, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents, Isabel Jankowski Buse and Otto Buse, and her sister, Myrtle Buse. Graveside services will take place 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3rd at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Big Rapids with Father Lam T. Le officiating.
