Joan M. Prince, age 80 of Barryton, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at her home. She was born August 21, 1943 in Ypsilanti the daughter of Joe and Helen (Kubon) Darmofall. Joan married William Prince in 1977 and together they made their home and raised their family in Barryton. Joan will always be remembered as a sweet and kind wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her family was the most important part of Joans life and the memories they made together will be cherished by all. Joan is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, William of Barryton; 3 children, James (Susan) Prince of Mansfield, Ohio, Misty (Mark) Coccia of Chippewa Lake, Shane (Jen) Prince of Big Rapids; five grandchildren, Ashley Hahn, TJ (Bridget) Hahn, Taylor Prince, Joslin Prince, Tycen Prince; four great-grandchildren, Emsley, Rylie, Nora, and Isaiah; a sister, Mary (Larry) Roberts of South Lyon; a brother, David (Rose) Darmofall of Paris, MI; several nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Darmofall. A Memorial Service for Joan will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Chippewa Lake Community Church with Pastor Roger Bennett officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. and at a luncheon being served immediately following the Memorial Service.
