Jewel "Julie" Leann Henderson, 84, passed away on February 17, 2026. She was born on October 9, 1941 in Detroit to Julian and Mildred (Smith) Ofenstein.

Julie took a bad fall in late September and had been in the hospital, rehab, or assisted living until her passing. She put up a gallant fight and always had an excellent attitude. Her body finally gave up and she passed peacefully and comfortably. Julie held the most challenging and rewarding job of raising five boys. She was also a skilled seamstress who altered garments, constructed quilts, and sewed clothing for her family. In addition to her work as a mother and seamstress, Julie was a gifted artist. She mastered several crafts including beading, miniatures, and diamond painting. She was an avid Bridge player right up to her fall. She adored cats and was an avid collector of things that brought her joy.

Julie is survived by her husband: Curtis Henderson, whom she married on February 14, 2025; sons: Keith (Lisa) Von Linsowe and William (Brenda) Von Linsowe, and granddaughters: Katy Von Linsowe and Tara Von Linsowe.

Julie is preceded in death by her sons: David Von Linsowe and Steven Von Linsowe.

Arrangements are in the care of Daggett Gilbert Funeral Homes, Big Rapids. A memorial service will be held at Sylvester Community Church, 4954 Spruce St, Mecosta, MI 49332, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin one hour earlier at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sylvester Community Church.
