Jessie J. Humphrey, age 83 of Big Rapids, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016 in Big Rapids. She was the youngest of 13 children born on February 6, 1933, to Erva and Bertha (Roe) Little in Battle Creek, MI. Jessie graduated from Springfield High School. She spent her earlier years raising her family in Chicago. Jessie moved to Barryton in 2005 to be closer to her daughter Linda. Jessie enjoyed watching t.v. and waited her entire life to see the Cubs win the World Series. She looked forward to road trips, color tours and loved Michigan because of the scenery. Jessie is survived by: two daughters, Linda (Russell) Clinton and Rosemary Mitchell; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends, who will remember the full and active life she lived. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 daughters, Debbie Shepherd and Nancy Marie Humphrey; a son Lawrence, William Humphrey and 12 siblings. A time of fellowship will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2016 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. At 3:00 p.m. on Friday brief words of committal will be said.
