Obituary

Jessie Geraldine "Gerry" Bargo, age 84 of Canadian Lakes, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012. She was born July 25, 1927 in Straight Creek, Kentucky the daughter of Wiley and Nellie (Cowan) Liford. Gerry was raised in Lafollette, TN and moved to Kalamazoo in her early 20's. She worked at The Jolly Kids Company, St. Regis Panelite and Georgia Pacific Paper Company all in Kalamazoo. Gerry retired, with her husband Ralph, in 1989. She enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, gardening, fishing, snowmobiling and was an accomplished seamstress. Gerry will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend by those she leaves to mourn, her beloved family includes her daughter, Gail (Jesus) Pequeno of Canadian Lakes; grandchildren, Alisa Burlew and her children, Parker Munson and Cameron Burlew; Jesse (fiance Terra) Pequeno and their children, Jesse Pequeno, Carmen Pequeno and Alonzo McGill; Angela Gleason and her son Derek Schur; Andrea "Andie" Pequeno and her daughter Alex Pequeno; three sisters, Ola Bowman of Speedwell, TN, Evelyn (Howard) Burke of Kokomo, IN, Billie Brantley of Knoxville, TN and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Bargo on November 29, 2011; four brothers, Joe, Henry, Neal and Willis Liford; two sisters, Edna Minton and her twin sister, Jenny Meraldine "Mert" Stokes. A memorial service honoring both Gerry and Ralph Bargo will take place 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July, 7 2012 at the VFW Post # 6252, East Michigan Ave, Comstock Township, Kalamazoo County, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
