Jesse Ray VanSyckle II, 62, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Grand Rapids, MI. He was born in Lakeview on July 10, 1953 to the late Jesse R. and Eula A. (Truxton) VanSyckle. Jesse graduated from Chippewa Hills High School in 1972 and was a direct support person for McBride AFC Homes in Barryton. Jesse was honorably discharged from the United States AirForce. He enjoyed making other people laugh and his sense of humor will be missed by his wife Pamela VanSyckle, who he married on June 21, 2014; his beloved daughter, Alicia (Timothy Hughes) VanSyckle-Derrick; a brother, Alan E. (Merrie Lange) VanSyckle of Mecosta; and many nephews, extended family members and close friends. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Vanessa VanSyckle. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Jesses life at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, May 20, 2016, at the Barryton Senior Center with family friend, Robert Earl sharing a eulogy. Jesse will be laid to rest at Flake Cemetery in Barryton with his parents. Cremation has taken place through the care of Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton.
