Jerry Allen Quick Sr., 65, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 5, 2016 in Grand Rapids. He was born on April 20, 1951 in Lakeview, MI to Eugene and Erabelle (Morse) Quick. Jerry graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1969 and on June 12, 1976 married Penny Polzin in Saginaw. Jerry worked in the oil fields when he was younger, was an iron worker for numerous years and recently retired from Fluid Routing Solutions in Big Rapids. Jerry was a member of Tops Chapter MI 1805 of Lake George. His beloved wife of forty years, Penny; six children, Sherry (Charles) Mangrum of Chatanooga, Jerry (Tanis) Quick Jr. of St. James City, FL, Heather (Robert) Kage of Morley, Joey (Allen) Martin of Mt. Pleasant, Rodney of Barryton and Justin (fianc Kaitlyn) of Barryton; ten grandchildren, Scott, Grant, Jacob, Katie, Jade, Emmy, Shyann, Devin, Kylie, and Lukey; two great grandchildren Adam and Cam and baby Lane on the way; one brother Charles (Joyce) Quick of Washington and many treasured extended family and friends will continue to hold the memories they have close to their hearts. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Roger, Kathryn Brewer, and LaVern. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and two hours prior to the funeral on Thursday, August 11th at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daggett Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Lovett officiating. Due to Jerrys unexpected passing the family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made for funeral expenses.
