Jean M. Winter, age 76 of Clare, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023. She was born in Mt. Pleasant on September 13, 1947, the daughter of the late Nathan Sr. and Dora (Fraley) DeFoy. Jean was raised in Clare and was a graduate from Clare High School. She later made her home in Barryton for 25 years before moving back to Clare. Jean looked forward to volunteering in her community. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, painting, and arts and crafts. Jean is survived by her two sons, Michael Sanger and Mark (Mavelyn) Sanger; step-son, Paul (Sheryl) Sanger; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Winter in 2010. Funeral Services will take place 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Jean will be laid to rest at Brown Cemetery in Barryton.
