Janis C. Friedman, age 76 passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 at her home in Barryton, surrounded by her family. She was born May 18, 1947 in Beaumont, TX, the daughter of Cecil Laughlin and Dorothy Gregory. Once you met Janis, you were a friend forever. Janis was a dedicated and extremely hard worker. She was an over-the-road trucker for more than 20 years and then began her employment with Action Communication for more than ten years. She was currently working for Williamson Veterinary Services as a phone receptionist, where she made lifelong friendships. Janis loved to watch birds and wildlife outside her home and had a passion for painting. She had a keen eye for home dcor and enjoyed crafting Christmas villages for her holiday parties, and cooking and baking for friends and family. She will be missed by all who loved her. She is survived by her children, Wendy (Chad) Bowles, Jason (Lori) Hug; siblings, Leona Ruth Bowles, Nancy (Mark) Terry, Stanley (Dona) Lepiarz; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one on the way; several nieces, nephews, and many special friends. Janis was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sheila; special friend Walter Simonet; and many faithful dogs. Care and arrangements by Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton.
