Janice S. Renas, age 89 of Big Rapids, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022. She was born August 3, 1933 in Fremont the daughter of Sheldon W. and Hazel V. (Purcey) Curtice. Janice married Gustav A. "Gus" Renas and together they made their home in Muskegon and later in Dearborn. During that time Janice worked as a billing and accounts clerk at Brunswick, Wolverine Express, and Peter Eckrich & Sons. After her kids were raised, she returned to work at First Savings and Loan of Dearborn. Gus passed away in 1988 and the next year Janice moved to Big Rapids to be near her family. She loved photography, music, dancing, collecting dolls, and visits to all her favorite local eateries. Janice always had snacks ready for all who visited her. She will be remembered as a giving person with a big heart by her friends and beloved family, including her daughter; Jill (John) Caskey; her son Jeffrey Renas all of Big Rapids; five grandchildren, Cody (Hailey) Chupp, Kelsey (Daniel) McDonagh, Skyler (Katie) Chupp, Logan (Christina) Renas, Drake (Andea) Renas; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn Nelson of Muskegon; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Gus, Janice was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Wei. Burial has taken place at Mona View Cemetery in Muskegon Heights.
