Janette Greene, age 63 of Morley, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at her home. She was born February 3, 1949 in Lakeview, the daughter of Ralph and Betty (Barker) Powell. Janette was a realtor for many years for Stevens Associates Real Estate in Howard City. She enjoyed decorating her home, acquiring many of her treasures at G. W. Boutique and yard sales. She was an avid gardener; she created beautiful flower arrangements and artistic displays. Janette decorated everything in Victorian dcor and antique dolls. She liked to sit on her beautiful porch with her many friends and family. Janette dearly loved her family, and she will be forever missed by all of them, including her three children, Jeannie (John) Cain of Tennessee, Scott (Gloria) Creighton of Florida, Cindy Creighton of Morley; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Matthew, Cassie, William, Rachael, Jeff, Jerry, Amber; her mother, Betty Powell of Morley; many nieces, nephews and special friends. Janette was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Powell, a brother Butch Powell and a sister Lucy Schouw. Funeral services will take place 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Dr. Duane Costello officiating; burial will follow at the Aetna Township Cemetery in Morley. The family will greet friends on Wednesday (today) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Janette's name may be given to assist with funeral arrangements.
