Janet M. Davis, age 87, died Saturday, April 17, 2021 at her sons home in Big Rapids. She was born May 10, 1933 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Arthur and Doris (Field) Crapo. On June 6, 1953 she married her high school sweet heart, Robert, in Battle Creek. Shortly thereafter they moved to Big Rapids where they raised their children. Janet was a bank teller at Chemical Bank and 1st National Bank for almost twenty years. She loved to travel with her husband and spend the winter months at Shady Brook Resort in Sumterville, FL. Janet had a way of making friends wherever she went. She loved to spend her time outdoors working in the yard or hunting and fishing with family. Family came first to Janet, and she cherished the time she spent with them. Janet is survived by her sons, Steve Davis of Climax, Ronald (Charlyn) Davis of Big Rapids; daughter, Denise (Jim) Whitmire of Vancouver, WA; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Crapo of Arizona; many nieces, nephews, extended family and several friends at Shady Brook Resort. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; sisters, Beverly (Bud) Hoekstra, Dolores (Denny) Turpin; daughter in law, Charlene Davis. A celebration of life will be held at The Woods Free Methodist Church in Stanwood at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice in Janets name.
