James "Jim" Rogers, age 69, of Stanwood passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 11, 1954 in Big Rapids, the son of Philo and Jean (Yanke) Rogers. Jim graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1972. Soon after graduating, he began working at Pioneer Newspaper in graphics and production before retiring 30 years later. After retirement he taught at MOISD for 13 years. He always expressed that teaching was the most rewarding job he ever held. Jims lessons didnt stop in the classroom. He loved to share all of his knowledge of the outdoors and wildlife to his family. Jim was passionate about hunting, fishing, and photography. He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed camping with his family. Jim cherished the time that he spent with his grandchildren. He had a unique sense of humor, was precise about everything that he did and instilled as many lessons as he could to his family that they will carry for a lifetime. He is survived by his beloved wife Kim of Stanwood; children, Jamie (Adam) Campbell of Grant, Caleb Rogers of Belmont, Adam (Raechel) Trites of Rodney, Eric (Emma) Trites of Hersey; siblings, William (Deb) Rogers, Betty Rogers, Bonnie (Louie) Edgerton, Larry Rogers, Mary Davis; grandchildren, Gabriel, Alexander, Gwen, Cole, Ensley, Walter, Nick, Alex, Orrin, Onnalee; many nieces and nephews; and several special extended family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
