James O. Jesko, age 63 of Rogers Heights passed away Thursday, November 13, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. He has entered into the loving arms of his savior Jesus Christ. Jim was born July 9, 1945 in Ionia, Michigan. Jim was a graduate of Comstock Park High School. His greatest joy in life was to be surrounded by his family, especially his grandbabies who would always put a smile on his face. His love of building led Jim to a successful career in the construction industry. He worked as a construction superintendent and also owned and operated Jesko's Auto Sales in Rogers Heights for many years. Jim has lived in the home he built for him and his wife for over 25 years and was a member of the Rogers Heights Christian Church. He is survived by his loving family, which includes his wife Penny of Rogers Heights, 7 children; Aaron D. Jesko of Washington D.C., Christopher (Nancy) Jesko of Rockford, Rodney (Kelly) Smith of Nunica Scott Jesko of Howard City, Elvis (Paula) Peacock of Barryton, Rocky (Deborah) Peacock of Stanwood, Russell Peacock of Newaygo, his 15 beloved grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, his mother, Ann Ladner of Rogers Heights, his sister, Gloria Holland of Indiana, step-sister, Cheryl (Eric) Gryco, several nieces, nephews and many extended family members in the Ionia area. Jim was preceded in death by his stepfather, Leroy Ladner, Grandpa Ora and Grandma Martha Tingley, His sister, Marcia Jacobson and his brother, Mike Smith. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 17th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Frank Hicks officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday, November 16th at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Burial will be at Ladner Cemetery in Rogers Heights.
