James "Jim" Humpula, age 58, formerly of Chesaning, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 5, 2024. He was born on March 27, 1965 in Owosso, the son of the late Jerrold and JoAnn Humpula.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, James and Marie Humpula, John and Mary Bolf; special cousins, Robin Daniels and Jason Beckman. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Jennifer (Moon) Humpula; children, Jarrett (Grace Borst) James, Joelle (Craig Hoskins) Kay; sisters, Kyleen (Sally Steinborn) Vincke, Jill (Carl Harris) Humpula, Kari (Mike) Knieper; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jim was a 1983 graduate of New Lothrop High School. In his early years he worked for the family business, Humpula Tile and Drainage, Dave Chiolek Construction, owned and operated ServiceMaster of Mount Pleasant, Randell Manufacturing/Unified Brands, and for the last 20 years was employed by Rowe Professional Services, Co.
Jim had many passions and loves. Passion for sports and the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and kayaking. He loved his family most of all, all of them, but his pride shined the brightest for his children. Being ever present in all their sporting events and endeavors, always encouraging them to be a better version of themselves. Jim and his shenanigans will be dearly missed. He was a man of many talents, a good hand, a grand citizen, with a host of friends.
Memorial donations may be made in Jims name to a charity of your choice.
Services for a casual Celebration of Life and Nostrovias will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton.
