James Edward Cool Jr., age 47, left us by his own choice on Friday, May 26, 2017 at his home in Sherman Township, MI. He was born on August 15, 1969 in Big Rapids. He leaves behind his son, James Edward Cool III and his mother, Dora Cotter, who he remained close to, as a united front for their son; his mother, Jean (Glenn) Woodbury; siblings, Erica Cool, Glen (Missy) Woodbury, Corey (Susanne) Cool, Mark Woodbury, Miranda Aragon, Lance Cool and Michelle (Lup Villegas) Cool; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and close friends who he considered family. James was preceded in death by his dad James E. Cool Sr.; sister, Lisa M. Woodbury; grandparents, Dorothy Cool and Ewald (Marion) Kremesec and a nephew, Alex Villegas.

James was straight forward, generous and would do anything for those he cared about. He worked as a directional driller and consultant for most of his life. For the last two years he worked out of his garage with his brother as a very gifted mechanic. James was looking forward to going to the big Nascar race this summer. He enjoyed truck pulls, mud bogs, kayaking and BBQs.

A graveside service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Sherman City Cemetery (off of W. Hovey Road) with words of committal spoken by his brother Mark. Following the graveside, everyone is invited to the Woodbury home at 5520 N. Sherman Rd., Lake (Weidman), MI to celebrate and tell stories of the "Banty Rooster".

Memorial donations in James memory can be made to James E. Cool III, to further his education.
