James E. Cool, age 66 of Barryton, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at his daughter's home in Lake, MI. He was born on September 16, 1946 in Detroit and was the son of Dorothy Cool. James was raised in Barryton and attended Barryton Rural Agricultural High School. He was honorably discharge from the United States Army after serving in the Vietnam War. He then had numerous jobs one of which was working at General Motors in Flint, MI where he lived many years of his earlier adult life. When he was younger he was an avid coon hunter and trapper. James was employed at Bandit as a welder until his health began to decline in 1998. James was excellent at welding and he was a great gardener having amazing gardens throughout his life. He also was a fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers. James is survived by his wife Marcia (Woodbury) Cool of Barryton; 6 children, James Cool Jr. of Weidman, Erica Cool of Grand Rapids, Corey Cool of Rodney, Miranda Aragon of Barryton, Lance Cool of Barryton and Michelle Cool of Lake; 11 grandchildren and numerous step brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy and two sisters; Rosie Cool and Jackie Parker. The family will greet friends at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton on Thursday, December 27th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28th at the funeral home with Pastor Joyce Rodriguez officiating.
