Jacob Thomas Porter is now in the hands of his Lord and Savior. He passed from this world on Monday, May 19, 2008. Jacob was born on October 3, 2005 and lived in Big Rapids with his parents, Timothy and Susan Porter and his sister Hannah. He was a member of the Reed City Church of the Nazarene and during his nearly three years; he only missed one Sunday service at his church. He was also a member in good standing of the River Valley Car Club. Jacob was the love of his parent's life, a joy to his family and touched many people who will forever miss him. He is also survived by his grandparents, Betty Wilson of Big Rapids and Thomas Porter of Grand Rapids. Other surviving family members include; Todd and Lisa Porter of Sand Lake, Mike Porter of Comstock Park, Sarah Porter of Muskegon, Amy and Chris Thomas of Grand Rapids, Carmen Kitchen of Evensville, IN, Rebecca and Gustavo Lopez of Scottville, Ryan Porter of Grand Rapids, Robyn Garvey of Baldwin, Charles and Alicia Dulzo of Big Rapids, Jackson Hill of Ludington, Angie Kitchen of Muskegon, Juanita Kitchen of Muskegon, Logan Carroll of Barryton, , Elizabeth Carroll of Barryton and many, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and his church family. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 23rd at the Reed City Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Chris DeMott officiating. Burial will be at VanGilder Cemetery in Big Rapids. The family will greet friends on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Memorial in Jacob's name may be given to his family.
