Jacob Hollister, 29, of Kalamazoo, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025. Born on July 1, 1995, in Big Rapids, Jacob was the beloved son of Steve and Jennie (Cole) Hollister.

Jacob graduated with the Morley-Stanwood High School Class of 2013, where he was an active and enthusiastic student. He enjoyed bowling, reading, and participating in quiz bowl, drama, and the Math and Science Center. His curiosity and love of learning were evident to all who knew him.

In recent years, Jacob found joy in kayaking, music, and playing games. Above all, he cherished time spent with his friends and family. Whether it was sharing meals, enjoying lively game nights, or simply being present for one another, Jacob's warmth and love were felt deeply by those around him. His love for his family and their love for him will forever remain in their hearts.

Jacob is survived by his parents, Steve and Jennie Hollister; his brother, Justice Hollister; his dear friend, Clare Seeley; his grandparents, Faith and Cork Hollister, and Kevin and Doneen Cole; his aunts and uncles, Fonda and Dan Kuzee, Corky and Angie Hollister, Ray Cole, Steve and Gail Cole, Cheryl and Rich Gregorio, and Kevin Cole II; and his cousins, Kirsten and Derec Jeffrey, Cody Hollister, Demi Kuzee, and Destiny Kuzee; as well as Aunt B, Aunt Chris, Aunt Dorothy and their families. He also leaves behind many cherished friends from both Kalamazoo and Big Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Connie Cole, and his great-grandmother, Dot.

A funeral service to celebrate Jacob's life will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Homes in Big Rapids. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Area 5 Special Olympics.
